Sunsets, they just quietly, poetically plead for picture taking. The Niagara Region is splendid with them, any time of year, and offers a variety of silhouetted foregrounds for pretty sunsets, like old barns, farm implements, trees, lakes, lighthouses and people. My favourite hang-outs for good sunsets are: Lake Ontario, Lake Erie, Niagara Falls, the Niagara River and Port Dalhousie. It helps to scout out propitious spots for sunsets ahead of time. Then when the sky looks good, high-tail it out there well before the sun goes down and the opportunity is lost. Be ready!
