Fort Erie Ontario is the southern-most town in Southern Ontario. If you cross the Peace Bridge, you end up "shuffling off" to Buffalo in The United States. Old Fort Erie played an important role in the War of 1812 against the Americans. The Ridgeway Battlefield Museum is a great attraction for the historian. And for those who like scenery, there's the drive along the Niagara Parkway with its pretty houses, the marina and the Niagara River. Fort Erie's annual Friendship Festival is held in early July on both sides of the border. It celebrates the friendship between Canada and the United States through concerts, playhouses, fireworks and midway rides. Tourists can check the calendar of events through Fort Erie Travel and Tourism.
